Student Mission Trip

Parents, I am thrilled to be taking a break from the camp scene to do hands-on missions work in my hometown. This is a cost-effective trip for you teenagers. I will have a packet with details for you guys soon. We will have several chaperones with us this year and will lodging will be provided by Michele's parents. We will have some down time to visit the arch, hopefully catch a Cardinals Ball game (Tuesday, 6/14/2016), and I'm working on taking them to "The Old-Spaghetti Factory" in St. Louis. This will be an incredible trip for your students. They WILL NOT want to miss this opportunity to serve St. Louis and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

YOu will not want to miss this! We are doing a joint lock-in this year with Christ Baptist Church and Williams Boulevard Baptist Church. THE PRICE INCLUDES BAND, SPEAKER, 3 HOURS OF LASER TAG, BUMPER CARS, MINI-GOLF, 2 SLICES OF PIZZA, UNLIMITED DRINKS, PLANNED ACTIVITIES REST OF EVENING.

What to bring:
1) Friends, Friends, and more friends. This is most important and can be an easy way to introduce your friends to youth group and church. Some important times for you to have meaningful conversations with other students are planned in the schedule so make the best use of this opportunity.
2) Your Bibles! Bring your bibles. Digital or hard copy.

Our camping trip is coming up this weekend March 25-26. The address is listed above. The campground is about 50 minutes away. We will all meet at the church at 10AM and head out from there. You will need to fill out our mandatory off-site form for each student attending. Wear something that you can shed if you get too warm. Due to limited space of loading everything down, I'm asking that you don't bring any backpacks or sports bags. Here is what you will need. If you don't have these items, just talk to us and we will see what we can do. Parents, you can contact me on my phone if your child's phone dies. There will be no hookups for them to recharge (oh, the terror! What will they do if their phone dies. . .)

Step Up Conference 2015
To Register for our STEP UP Conference, click on "EVENTS" and fill out the registration form. We will send out a packet of information concerning the conference (schedules, costs, lodging information, etc.) We are looking forward to this conference and hearing from different student pastors and Dr. Joey Dodson as they help students learn what it means to be leaders in there in their lives, at there schools, on there sports teams, and at their churches. Your students will be blessed for attending.

I am excited to announce that we have decided on Camp for 2015. For those who are not familiar with M-Fuge Camps, these camps are designed with a focus on local missions.
Students will participate in the ministry track of their choice (children's ministry, senior adult ministry, Painting/Construction/Yardwork, Rec Ministry, etc.). We want to serve our students, but lead them to develop the hearts of servants as well. For more information you can visit http://www2.lifeway.com/fuge/.
Requirements: Students who plan to attend camp must attend at least 2 Wednesday night services and 2 Sunday morning services on a regular basis. Though camp is always a blast, it is not simply a vacation. Camp is an intentional opportunity for our students who have been growing spiritually in our student ministry to further their spiritual growth in a different context.
Date: June 29-July 3, 2015. We will leave Sunday Morning June 28 for West Palm Beach.
Cost: The cost is $350 per student. We will be fundraising to help buffer the costs of camp like we did last year. The deposit this year will be $150 and will be due no later than March 31, 2015.
